The Narrows at Twilight


I snapped this picture of the Narrows Bridge last night. Sorry about the raindrops and lines on the back window, but at least you can see the great sunset!

Don't be sorry for the drops and lines! That adds "life" to the photo.

(Otherwise we'd wonder if you risked life-n-limb to get that shot.)

As in the Tacoma Narrows Bridge??? The one that twisted like a spaghetti noodle and collapsed 50 years ago due to sympathetic vibrations like that video I watched in Acoustics class? Ooooo, cool!

Yes, indeed, it's the Tacoma Narrows bridge! I cross it several times a week. You'll notice to the left of the picture that they're building a second bridge right next to it. Eventually, one bridge will hold just eastbound traffic, and the other just westbound. Traffic on that one bridge is terrible as it is now.
