One more time

This is probably my last post before becoming Mrs. Dennis P. because the wedding is only a week away! I've probably said it before, but time has flown by. I'm so looking forward to seeing my Honey on Wednesday night! And of course Penny & Nate, Aunt Ellie, Jill & Chloe, and then Dennis' clan who begin coming in Thursday.

I have spent a portion of every day sorting and packing my earthly possessions. There's quite a growing pile in the garage! But I do see light at the end of the tunnel, I think. I'm also trying to psych Cheeky up for the Big Move. I hope he'll still be my friend afterwards. Not only will he be confined to a small space for a number of hours and flown across the country, but he'll also have to adjust to not sleeping on the pillow next to me at night! Poor chap, many changes ahead.
Today is my last quiet Saturday as a single in my father's house. We were going to go out to lunch, but after my waking up with a smidge of a sort throat, we decided to postpone that event so I could spend the day warding off sickness with prayer, sleep, warmth and various pills and potions. Please pray I won't get sick!
Speaking of warmth, we had a smattering of snow last night and this morning! Didn't stick, but it is still cold out. Bizarre. This is probably the coldest April of my memory. We're praying for nice weather this next week, and especially Saturday!

April Update

It's only a little less than 3 weeks till the wedding! I can't believe it really, although seeing piles of gifts as well as packing my belongings brings it home a bit. I'm able to focus more on wedding and moving preparations since my student recital on March 29, when I was finished teaching all but a few of my students. There are no more performances either, except singing at church the week before the wedding. So...life is full right now of packing, shopping, sorting, talking to Dennis, reading marriage books, emailing, phone calls, making a slideshow, texting Dennis, writing notes, running errands, and a million other odds and ends! But things are coming together very well, praise the Lord.

If you think of it, here are a few specific prayer requests:
  • That all involved would stay healthy and rested
  • That God would provide financially for everything (wedding and honeymoon)
  • Traveling mercies for those coming from afar
  • Guidance in the packing and moving process (moving is so stinkin' expensive, especially when you throw a mini-van in the picture, gas is expensive, and you're going from WA to GA!)
  • That God would help us prepare well not only for the wedding, but for a strong marriage
  • That in all the details, large and small, God would be glorified
