Merry Christmas!

It's only been Christmas for 26 minutes here in the Pacific Northwest, but it is still Christmas, so I can cheerfully wish everyone a Merry Christmas!! Christmas is my favorite holiday, and there are so many pleasant traditions and memories associated with it for me. Every year is a little different. Sometimes we have company in, sometimes we don't. We're just sticking to a threesome celebration and a lowkey day, which will be fine.

I have two big reasons to be joyful. First of all, my wonderful, amazing God sent His Son to a sinful earth as a helpless infant in humble stable, Who then grew up to die on the cross. Through Him I have freedom, eternal life, fellowship with God, hope, joy, peace, and so much more. What a huge gift I could never repay! Secondly, the Lord has given me the love of a wonderful, charming, Godly, compassionate man named Dennis. It's overwhelming sometimes, because I don't feel particularly worthy of such love. I mean, of course I hoped and prayed for someone like him, and I hoped someone would cherish me and think I was wonderful, but perhaps it seemed unreal that would ever happen. God is good. He's worth waiting for. :-)

Christmas Portraits

My friend Anna S. took these pics for me. It's been a very busy month with performances, entertaining, teaching, and keeping the wires hot between here and Georgia. :-) Maybe I'm just a little exhausted, or maybe there's something going around, but I came down rather suddenly with a little flu bug last night. But whether I feel better or not, I've got performances tonight and tomorrow and our church Christmas program (which I'm coordinating) on Sunday. THEN I can rest for three days before storming Altanta. :-) I guess Sherman marched to Atlanta, but storming sounded better. Do you think the South can handle this "wild" Seattle girl? Heh heh...

Christmas Happenings

Last Friday we got our beautiful almost 10 foot tree, and on Saturday we hosted our annual Christmas party. Both events were a lot of fun, though I'm still trying to catch up sleep!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

My sweet Grandma Sweet turned 98 today! I'd say she's doing mighty fine for a woman who's survived polio, two world wars (plus a few more), the Great Depression, two husbands, two children, many homes, and a nursing home! She laughs easily, which is probably a contributor to her longevity.

Have I mentioned this really awesome guy I know? :-D If you didn't know already, God is the very best Matchmaker around!

Winter!

Saturday and Sunday we had lots of snow, but it was completely obliterated by Monday by over 7 inches of rain!
